The Lunchbox Series is a bite-sized professional learning program designed for busy people!
This webinar offers a detailed explanation and overview of sensory spaces as well as sensory modulation items and equipment that can be utilised in a range of environments.
The webinar begins with an outline of some important points to consider prior to using sensory spaces and sensory equipment.
It then provides a definition of sensory spaces and discussion regarding different types of sensory spaces, including safe spaces, sensory rooms and nature as a sensory space. It also introduces the use of virtual reality as an alternative to sensory spaces.
An overview of sensory modulation equipment is then provided, including equipment considerations, sensory kits, make your own sensory items and coaching strategies to identify everyday items in the home to use for sensory modulation purposes.

Trainers:
The webinars are presented by Carolyn Fitzgibbon and Julie O’Sullivan. Carolyn and Julie are two experienced OTs who have worked together for many years and share considerable knowledge and practical experience in the implementation of sensory modulation and approaches, at both direct client and service development levels. Together, Carolyn & Julie have conducted many webinars and workshops for mental health districts and on behalf of OT Australia on sensory modulation and the integration of these approaches into service delivery. Carolyn and Julie have also co-authored the Sensory Modulation Resource Manual.
